#fielddayMAKERS

In the midst of our coldest start to winter in over 50 years, we thought it was the perfect time to remind you that summer will return—and if your project list is anything like ours, now is a great time to get sewing for it!

Below we share with you a small selection of beautiful makes by the sewing community using our By The Sea collection of fabrics. Once again we’ve been completely blown away with what you’ve created!

Whilst the fabric is no longer available to purchase, we think there are still some metres stored away in people’s fabric stashes just waiting for the perfect pattern—hopefully you’ll find that inspiration here! Enjoy :)

We love this faux jumpsuit by Heather and we especially love that it was photographed by the sea! Heather is an indie pattern enthusiast and has been one of our biggest supporters from the start—with several #fielddaymakes on her Instagram page, it’s definitely worth a visit!

Heather created the top half using the Tudor Blouse by @stitchwitchpatterns and was inspired by Dani from @fabricnotions to make the wrap hack. The pants were a basic pattern from old pj’s with added leg width, double pleats and a flat waistband with elastic and an invisible zip at the back.

We couldn’t resist showing you how the coordinating set splits up for even more outfit options! The top can be worn back to front—perfect for a capsule wardrobe!

These pyjama shorts are just perfect and have us re-thinking our plans for the Archipelago fabric in our stash! Stacey made them using the FREE Pyjamas Pattern by @theassemblylineshop, there’s also a top if you’re wanting the dream set!

Who knew Nana’s Quilt would make such a beautiful dress?! Melissa certainly did—made from a Cotton Sateen base, Melissa used the @chalkandnotch Marcel dress pattern with some hacks, including the shoulder ties and ruffle at the front.

Meredith created this lovely transeasonal top using the Moira Blouse by @wardrobebymepatterns in Tropics Sea Sateen.

Another delightful coordinating set, this time by Paula with a self drafted tiered skirt and top made from Tropics Sea Cotton Sateen. So swishy!

Just in case you need a mood booster to wear right now, Tropics Sea French Terry is equally perfect for winter as it is cold summer evenings! Mirjam in Switzerland made this chic hoodie using the Frikka Hoodie pattern by @fibremood.

We love Ripple Olive Cotton Sateen as a dress! HL has written a great Instagram post on her experience making this dress with the McCalls 7969 pattern, check it out if it’s in your project pile!
